Hands-On with the Tecno Spark Slim: Tecno’s Latest and Thinnest Smartphone

Tecno Spark Slim isn’t simply a thin phone. It’s remarkably well-made, with Gorilla Glass up front and either a ceramic or stainless steel-colored (it’s actually plastic) rear panel. The phone has a unibody design that is quite comfortable to hold.

Remarkably, a 5,200mAh battery that is only 4.04 mm thick is contained within. The battery can recharge at up to 45W, which is good given how difficult it must be for a phone this thin to dissipate heat during charging. Between the two 50MP cameras is an LED notification light strip. It is highly high-tech and really cool.

Ah, I see! You want it to sound more natural, like a conversational tone for Nigerian readers. Here’s an improved, more casual version:

The stainless steel version of the Tecno Spark Slim has a shiny, mirror-like finish that looks premium at first, but it doesn’t take long before it starts picking up smudges and fingerprints everywhere. The ceramic version, however, does a much better job of staying clean and still looks great all the time.

At just 146g, the Spark Slim is super light, but Tecno actually added a bit of extra weight on purpose. They wanted to avoid the phone feeling too light, almost like a toy. It’s a nice balance, making it feel solid and premium in your hand.

We also really like the phone’s rounded design, it’s a nice change from the sharp, boxy edges that most phones are using these days. It gives the Spark Slim a smoother, more comfortable feel that’s refreshing to hold.

Quick Specifications

The rounded design carries over to the display as well. Speaking of which, the Tecno Spark Slim features a 6.78-inch AMOLED screen with a 1220p resolution and a smooth 144Hz refresh rate. It can get up to 4,500 nits of peak brightness, making it perfect for outdoor use under bright sunlight.

While Tecno hasn’t revealed the exact chipset powering the Spark Slim, they did mention that it’s equipped with an octa-core CPU. Unfortunately, the Spark Slim is just a concept phone at the moment and won’t be released in its current form. But don’t worry, Tecno is eager to bring a version of this phone to the market later this year, so we can expect something similar to hit shelves soon.
